For internet access, customers have two options, one to connect via Ethernet or customers can connect a 4G or 5G phone for mobile data. As the streaming is built into the camera, customers can see the stream status and data rate in the viewfinder and the LCD. I would choose the Atomos over it any day of the week VS the BMVA4K at it's full retail price. I've been using a BMVA4K for a month, it can feel like you are testing a product that's not completely finished, it has some quirks, it will occasionally baffle you... But it records beautiful video in 10-bit Pro Res onto "cheap" SD cards via your camera's HDMI out line. Many people who read this site don't own (or want) a prosumer video camera and might, instead, want to make the most of what their existing large sensor camera and lenses can do. All scopes are accessed by tapping the histogram at the lower left of the panel and they all take up the whole screen. Two tiny, tiny buttons inconsistent with the rest of the interface let you control over how the waveforms and video appear.

As our review reveals, it’s a heck of an all-around camera for both still and video shooters. Revising this design would speed up operation of the Video Assist considerably. Unlike the Atomos recorders, which tend to use Sony L-series-style batteries and write to SSD drives, the Blackmagic uses Canon LP-E6 batteries and writes to SD cards. This use of more photographer-friendly formats has both advantages and disadvantages. The world's most advanced chroma keyer with Quad Link 12G‑SDI for HD, Ultra HD and 8K!

3D color lookup tables (LUTs) are used to adjust the color of the output so the director or cinematographer can see a certain "look" as they’re shooting. LUTs are extremely useful when shooting RAW or when using "film" dynamic range, both of which generally look flat when they’re shot. LUTs are used to give you a better idea of what the footage will look like after it has been color corrected in post production. Blackmagic Video Assist can apply 3D LUTs for viewing on the LCD touchscreen, making them ideal for high end feature film and television production. In addition to the built in LUTs, you can also load and store your own 33‑point 3D LUTs, up to a total of 25 on the 7” model and 20 on the 5” model. The files from Blackmagic Video Assist are common and are compatible with all operating systems or in most video software.

The dashboard features easy to navigate tabs for adjusting Record, Monitor, Audio, Setup and LUT settings. Blackmagic Video Assist includes professional scopes to help you evaluate signal. Tapping on the scope icon at the top right lets you choose between waveform, parade, vector or histogram.

As we've seen from his earlier movies, the best of which include The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow, Liman is a more-than-capable director of action. The bar brawls here are well choreographed and cleanly shot, and the fighting encompasses everything from intimate fisticuffs to grander-scale set-pieces. Probably my favorite performance is given by a hungry crocodile who makes short work of one of the more annoying members of the cast and gives the movie some authentic Florida flavor.

Later, Wesley contacts Dalton threatening that either Elizabeth or Garrett will die. Garrett is attacked, but fights off his assailants and comes to Double Deuce, while Dalton checks on Elizabeth, who is safe but unwilling to talk to Dalton any further. Distraught, Dalton storms Wesley's estate, kills most of his henchmen and defeats, but relents from killing Wesley, refusing to give in to his anger.

Road House Reboot - What We Know So Far

That version of the film never really took shape, however, and the current iteration looks to be a more straightforward remake of the original. While the film is likely a long ways from heading before cameras, it seems MGM is hot to get the production off the ground. So much so, they're now meeting with writers to touch up a screenplay previously written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry.

Stephen discovers Dalton has left them the trunk of cash as the bus pulls away. In a mid-credits scene, Knox has survived and assaults the hospital staff, leaving in his gown. Frankie admits that Brandt has been buying up property to build an expensive resort, but she is the lone holdout. Dalton decides to leave town but discovers that Charlie and Stephen are in the hospital after Brandt's men burned down their bookstore. Enraged, Dalton kills one of the thugs responsible and captures a sheriff's deputy making a large delivery of Brandt's illicit cash, framing the deputy for the murder and taking the money. The sheriff soon informs Dalton that Brandt has kidnapped Ellie and will exchange her for the money.

Full Cast & Crew

We are expected to believe that the sadist financed these hunting expeditions by shaking down the businesmen in a town that, on the visible evidence, contains a bar, a general store, a Ford dealership and two residences. "Road House" is the kind of movie that leaves reality so far behind that you have to accept it on its own terms. This movie delivers a lot of the same kicks as the first, but with contemporary tuneups like a villain played by Conor McGregor, the Ultimate Fighting Championship star who’s first seen stark naked, except for shoes and socks (so he can carry his phone). Though two hours long, the movie moves as swiftly as a greased ferret through a Habitrail and delivers hallucinatory action highs for its extended climax. Road House can sometimes be so bad it's good, but more often, the uneven acting and ridiculous story are just disappointing. As Frankie and Stephen begin to rebuild, Charlie says goodbye to Dalton as he waits for his bus out of town.

The Chaces and Schindlers shared the house from the summer of 1922 until July 1924 when the Chaces moved to Florida. Whether Road House is simply bad or so bad it's good depends largely on the audience's fondness for Swayze -- and tolerance for violently cheesy action. Judging by the trailer, Gyllenhaal appears to have gotten pretty ripped for the film.

Elizabeth arrives and reconciles with Dalton, but Wesley recovers and attempts to shoot him before being shot dead by the locals, including Emmett and Red. Sometime later, the modernized and refined Double Deuce bustles with customers while Dalton and Elizabeth swim together in a lake. One evening, the auto shop adjacent to the Double Deuce — owned by Elizabeth's uncle Red Webster — is destroyed in an arson attack. After Dalton and the crowds return inside the Double Deuce, they find Wesley awaiting them. He has his men fight Dalton's bouncers and damage the bar before agreeing to leave. Wesley sabotages other businesses as the local owners discuss their futile efforts to stop him.

Tilghman plans to invest substantial funds into the dilapidated club and needs Dalton's highly regarded skills to tackle the endemic violence and rough customers. Dalton agrees in exchange for full authority over the club's operations, immediately firing several employees for poor behavior, theft, and drug dealing. For privacy, Dalton stays in a sparse barn owned by a farmer Emmett, unaware that the mansion across the adjacent lake is owned by Brad Wesley, a crime lord controlling the town through bribery, intimidation, and violence.

He is approached by Frankie, the owner of an unruly roadhouse in the Florida Keys community of Glass Key, who offers him a job as head bouncer. Initially hesitant, Dalton takes up the offer after narrowly averting a suicide attempt with a freight train that destroys his car. He takes a bus to Frankie's establishment, called simply The Road House, and befriends Charlie, a teenager who runs a bookstore with her father, Stephen. The Schindler House is laid out as two interlinking L-shaped apartments (referred to as the Schindler and Chace apartments) using the basic design of the camp site that he had seen a year before.

At his most winning despite his character’s lethal nature, Gyllenhaal keeps up the one-liners and drollery. In lieu of Swayze’s Zenlike musings, he gives us dry inquiries about whether his challengers have medical insurance before pummeling and delivering them to a hospital. At the Road House, Dalton fends off a motorcycle gang working for local crime boss Ben Brandt and personally drives the injured thugs to the hospital, where he meets Ellie, a doctor who tends to his injuries.

Receiving a knife wound in the process, Dalton visits a hospital and befriends Dr. Elizabeth Clay to whom Wesley is also attracted. After sending his henchmen to unsuccessfully try to disrupt business at the Double Deuce, Wesley offers to hire Dalton himself. Dalton refuses and Wesley uses his connections to prevent the Double Deuce from purchasing alcohol from any suppliers. Dalton uses his own connections to secure some supplies and reunites with his mentor Wade Garrett, an aging bouncer. Wesley sends his men to destroy the Double Deuce's supplies, but Dalton and Garrett defeat them.

'Road House' review: This remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze film comes up short : NPR

road house

Each apartment was designed for a separate family, consisting of 2 studios, connected by a utility room. The utility room was meant to serve the functions of a kitchen, laundry, sewing room, and storage. The four studios were originally designated for the four members of the household (Rudolph & Pauline Schindler and Clyde & Marian Chace). The house, at just under 3,500 square feet (330 m2), sits on a 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m2) lot. As noted in that Deadline report, this is not the first time MGM has tried to reboot "Road House" for modern audiences. In fact, the studio was eyeing a gender-swapped version of the film a few years back as a vehicle for Olympic medalist, MMA champion, and professional wrestler Ronda Rousey.

Schindler House

And as it is, many of the more perplexing cinematic revisits announced surround possible fresh takes on (or sequels) to 1980s hits like "Labyrinth," "The Great Outdoors," and "Highlander," (per ET Canada). Now, it seems you can add another classic eighties flick to that list, as Deadline is reporting a remake of Patrick Swayze's deliciously sleazy actioner "Road House" is now in the works. The remake, written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry, mostly sticks to the original template. In this version of the story, Dalton, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship star who's fallen on tough times.

Kings Road House- under construction

None of the other actors are especially persuasive, except Jessica Williams as the roadhouse's tough-minded owner. As a snarling hit man who tries to take Dalton down, the Irish professional fighter Conor McGregor does make an impression, in the same way a wrecking ball makes an impression. This isn't the first time Gyllenhaal has played an ultra-shredded fighter, as he did in the 2015 boxing melodrama Southpaw. His Dalton is a pretty standard-issue protagonist, complete with a troubled past that haunts his dreams. But Gyllenhaal, who's always brought a touch of wild energy even to his good-guy roles, makes those demons more convincing than you'd expect. This movie is so top-heavy with plot, it can even afford to ignore some obvious possibilities.

Rudolph M. Schindler (1887- : Kings Road house

Garrett attempts to calm Dalton, trying to assuage his guilt about killing in self-defense and his frustration at being unable to end Wesley's campaign. Elizabeth also tries to dissuade Dalton from continuing before Emmett's home is blown up by Wesley's henchman Jimmy Reno. Although Emmett is saved, the enraged Dalton fights Reno and rips his throat out, much to Elizabeth's shock and disgust. James Dalton is a professional bouncer working security for a club in New York City. Although stoic and cool-headed, Dalton is tormented by memories of a man he killed in self-defense by ripping out his throat. Frank Tilghman, a businessman, recruits Dalton to take over security at his club "Double Deuce" in Jasper, Missouri.

Road House has achieved cult status and was voted as the most watched film on cable in 2020.[5][6] A sequel titled Road House 2 was released in 2006 and a remake with the same name was released in 2024. They're reportedly looking to lock up a major name to direct the "Road House" reboot as well, with "The Bourne Identity," and "Edge of Tomorrow" helmer, Doug Liman, eyeing the director's chair. Of course, with the film's shooting script still not up to snuff, and its behind-the-camera talent still taking shape, it's anybody's guess when the "Road House" reboot will actually shoot, let alone when it will be released.

The original film was released in 1989, and proved a modest box office hit for Swayze (per Box Office Mojo). In the years since its release, however, "Road House" has become revered as a staple of the era as fans young and old continue to revel in its absurdist B-movie charms, with studio bosses no doubt looking to capitalize on its enduring popularity. At present, there aren't many concrete details surrounding the "Road House" reboot, but a few juicy nuggets are being dangled about the project. The center operates a residency program and exhibition space at the Mackey Apartments (R.M. Schindler, 1939) and runs more intimate programming at the Fitzpatrick-Leland House (R.M. Schindler, 1936) in Los Angeles. Troubled former UFC middleweight fighter Elwood Dalton makes a living scamming fighters on the underground circuit.

road house

I saw Road House at a screening in a theater, and it's possible the technical flaws were magnified on the big screen in a way that they won't be on your TV. Even so, it's too bad that audiences won't get a chance to decide for themselves. Even so, Gyllenhaal's Dalton feels like less of a pacifist than Swayze's, and he's not afraid to stir up trouble. At one point, a nasty biker gang shows up and starts wreaking havoc inside the roadhouse. Taking on Swayze’s role, Jake Gyllenhaal plays the pro fighter turned bouncer Elwood Dalton, here protecting a juke joint that sits on a valuable piece of real estate in the Florida Keys.

Pauline Gibling Schindler left the house and her husband in August 1927 while Rudolph remained at the house until his death in 1953. The Chace apartment had a variety of famous and creative people live in it, including; art dealer & collector Galka Scheyer,[6] dancer John Bovingdon, novelist Theodore Dreiser, photographer Edward Weston and composer John Cage. Pauline Schindler returned to live in the Chace Studios part of the house, separate from her former husband, in the late 1930s and stayed until her death in May 1977. But it is rendered with such obvious affection and steadfast devotion by Swayze and everyone involved (particularly the rarely better Sam Elliott), it's all but impossible not to be won over by its charms.

Of course, in a town with two residences, there may not be much pent-up housing demand. "Road House" is said to be based on an actual case in Missouri where the local bad guy, universally hated by everyone in town, was murdered in broad daylight - and no one in town seems to have seen a thing. If that is the genesis for the story, everything else in it seems to have come from a cheerful willingness to go over the top in every way possible. Hence, a remake of the film, some might argue, is destined to be a pastiche of a pastiche. But as we move further into the 21st century, we find the notion of authenticity ever more devalued. Robert Oppenheimer of lunatic action set pieces (“The Bourne Identity,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” “Edge of Tomorrow” to name a few).

Personalize your stream and start following your favorite authors, offices and users. Schindler's friend, partner and rival, Richard Neutra along with his wife Dione and son Frank lived in the Chace apartment from March 1925 until the summer of 1930. With Schindler as architect and Chace as builder to save costs, construction began in November 1921.

He's run out of options when he's offered a job cooling down the riff-raff at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. When he shows up, he teaches the other bouncers to de-escalate the violence that flares up night after night among the bar's very mean, very drunk patrons. The house is built on a flat concrete slab, which is both the foundation and the final floor.

Nude Cruises: Setting Sail With Freedom, Clothing Optional

nude cruise ship pictures

Whether it’s your first time taking the plunge or you’re an avid bare cruiser, this cruise will provide the mid-winter break you are looking for and the chance to make friends and memories to last a lifetime. If you want something in between, you might get a kick out a Temptation Caribbean Cruise, which is topless with a clothing optional area. Bare Necessities is committed to maintaining a respectful, safe, and non-judgmental atmosphere. Rules and regulations are in place to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety, including policies related to where nudity is allowed, the use of towels on shared surfaces, and proper behavior.

thoughts on “The Best Nude & Clothing-Optional Cruises”

My limit was to use a bedsheet and pretend to wear a toga, but others brought a suitcase full of gear for every occasion. Although it may seem counterintuitive, packing for a nude cruise still includes bringing clothes for certain situations, such as when you are in port or dining in the main restaurants. Comfortable, casual attire like shorts and T-shirts is acceptable in these areas. Aside from clothing, pack essentials like sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and any required personal items. Finally, be mindful of the clothing policies and guidelines for each cruise.

It is important to check with the specific cruise line for their age policy and any additional information regarding their target audience. Some cruises may cater to specific demographics or be open to a wide range of adult travelers. Booking a nude cruise can be an exciting experience, and it’s important to understand the options available. We touched on this a little up above, but make sure you are choosing the right cruise for what you’re looking for.

On the other hand, a swingers cruise, or sex cruise, is designed for couples looking to explore their sexuality with others. While these cruises might also be clothing-optional, they specifically cater to swingers and offer sex-themed events and playrooms for adult fun. While the primary appeal of a nude cruise is the freedom to be clothing-optional, there may be times when clothing is required or preferred.

Bring an open mind, try new foods and experiences (I tried nude yoga on deck every morning and learned how to make a toga out of my bedsheet), listen and engage. As hundreds of prior travelers have already proven, you will enjoy the experience so much, you’ll be coming back for more. In addition to the usual cruise line entertainment activities (endless bingo, trivia quizzes, comedy shows, etc.) Bare Necessities added many other activities — often hosted by fellow naturist guests. We made jewelry, tried ballroom dancing, learned about the night sky overhead, and worked on our pickleball skills. I photographed a number of models during a photography workshop, and I conveniently went missing when called to aquarobics.

Are the Shore Excursions Nude?

Many mainstream cruise lines like Holland America, Celebrity Cruises, and Royal Caribbean have had their ships chartered for nude cruises. The mainstream cruise lines don’t offer nude cruises directly but can be chartered by organizations offering optional clothing salings. While clothing is optional on nude cruise ships, sunscreen, hats, and flip-flops are a necessity on nude cruises to tropical environments. Also, your carry-on luggage is fine to take with you to board so pack it for your basic needs. If you want to meet with other couples for adult fun, then clothing-optional swingers cruises offer just that. These include a whole host of activities to get your pulse racing, including sexy themed parties, erotic movie showings and couples workshops.

While she initially faced disinterest and skepticism, today her vision flourishes as Bare Necessities Tour and Travel (just one of many current providers). Their clothing-optional adventures across the Caribbean, Mediterranean, South Pacific, Australia and the Greek Isles have captivated travelers, contributing to the $533-million-per-year nude travel industry. Ordinarily, going nude on a cruise ship (outside of the privacy of your own stateroom) isn’t allowed. However, there are a range of nudist, clothing-optional and lifestyle cruises that allow you to go naked in public should you wish. You’ll come across lifestyle cruises while exploring the world of nude cruises. Swingers cruises are charted adult-only sailings that cater to individuals and couples interested in the swinging lifestyle.

By now, you should have a clearer picture of what a nude cruise offers and what it doesn’t. It’s all about setting the right expectations and being open to a novel experience. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll chart the course of this unique travel option, ensuring you’re well-equipped (or, perhaps, well-undressed) for your next grand nude cruising voyage.

Passengers also can’t wear only lingerie to the dining room or specialty restaurants though rules are more lax in the casual buffet where nudity is permitted as is when enjoying room service. Wearing lingerie around the ship (at any time) is not appropriate for a naturist cruise. You’re on nakation and, naturally, you would want to take some snaps to capture the moment.

These cruises offer a liberating experience for those who like to go bare and are most likely a nude vacation you’ll never forget. However these ships may be chartered by third-party companies and used for nude cruise events. All passengers are required to be fully clothed when in public areas.

Always check your specific cruise’s guidelines and itinerary for themed nights or special events requiring specific attire. Cruises have become big business over the last few decades, with ever-larger ships and cruise lines introducing novel ways to fill them. Since this article is about nude cruises, we’re only going to include the one company that offer a nudist, or naturist experience. Carnival does not run nude cruises themselves but their cruise ships have been charted by third-party travel companies who can set them up as nude cruise. Bliss Cruise, LLV, and Desire Cruises reign as other top choices in the nude cruise arena, though offerings by these companies often have swingers' cruise elements. Bliss was born in 2014 through a collaboration with three industry partners, set sail to pioneer adult, clothing-optional luxury ships exclusively for couples seeking worldwide adventures.

Do not confuse a “nude” or “naturist” cruise with a “lifestyle” cruise. Naturist/nudist cruises allow you to be on the ship without clothes (except in restaurants where clothing is appropriate) and are for people who appreciate the freedom of not having to wear clothes. Nude cruise ships typically emphasize a relaxed and open atmosphere, and they often include special amenities and activities tailored to nudists and naturists. However, it’s important to note that the nature of the experience is not sexual. Instead the ships are chartered by third-party companies who hire the cruise ships for a set amount of time and then market the event as a nude cruise.

There are so many places you can visit by boat in the Abacos that many of my following recommendations are island-hopping stops in the Abacos. Lubbers Landing serves lunch, dinner and  is a “must do” in the Abacos. If you are traveling by boat, which you will be unless you are a really strong swimmer, look for the Lubber’s Landing sign. If that is not enough to convince you that this place rocks, then ask Richard Branson what he thinks of the joint.

With this timing you should arrive back to our base around 3pm for check-in and your provisions may be put directly aboard the boat. The non-refundable hazard fee outlined on your quote/invoice reduces your damage deposit to $4000 for your charter, regardless of charter length. The $4000 will be pre-authorized on the credit card of your choice 7 days prior to arrival, and will be released within 48 hours of your departure providing there is no damage. Should you prefer not to pay the hazard fee, your credit card will be authorized for the entire deductible amount for the particular boat you are chartering, which typically is around 2% of the full value of the boat. As most guests prefer to not have this large amount held on their credit card, we provide the option of paying the hazard fee to reduce this amount to $4000, instead of the full amount of the insurance deductible.

Day Charter Itinerary: Abaco Islands, The Bahamas

You can relax and enjoy the facilities at our base, the Great Abaco Beach Resort. Just a short sail from Man-O-War Cay you will arrive in Hope Town on Elbow Cay with plenty of time to explore this charming settlement. Go out to lunch, climb the historic lighthouse, visit the museum and shops, or just hit the beach – whatever you desire.

Below we’re highlighting some common information for our guests to peruse before their trip. Learn more below, contact us with any questions you may have, or book a trip now. Once we have received your reservation request we will be in touch with additional information and instructions. If for some reason you don’t hear back from us within 48 hours of submitting the reservation request please contact us at The Abacos is the REAL Bahamas and there is not a single cruise ship in sight which is reason enough to plan your next vacation in the Abacos.

With the close proximity of the islands, guests can island hop and discover many remote and captivating locations in a short amount of time. Cruise Abaco’s “Captain by day, Bareboat by night” concept allows guests to have the best of both worlds while earning their certifications. The Captain / Instructor is with you during the day, sailing, teaching and stopping to snorkel or take in sights and explore. The Abacos, grouped into North, Central and South islands, spans 120 miles.

Cruising in Abacos

Below we’ve put together helpful information about getting here, airlines you may wish to travel by, and more. Find everything you need to get here successfully, then contact us with questions or book your trip to the Bahamas today. Little Harbour is home to Pete’s Pub,  Pete’s is a classic beach restaurant/pub and the only working sculpture foundry in the Bahamas. World-famous for nature and oceanic-inspired large sculptures, jewelry and more.

Ready to step aboard?

The good news especially for this upcoming season is that much of the islands’ infrastructure has been rebuilt and is ready for visitors. We recommend bringing soft-sided luggage for your charter as we have no storage facilities at our base, and hard-sided luggage will only take up valuable space aboard the boat. The stepped hull communicates smoothly with the sea, while the design of her hulls and superstructures enhances space onboard.

If you’re looking for the perfect Abaco boat charter, we’ll make sure you have a blast. The large saloon with its double sofa offers relaxation and comfort with breathtaking views. A hydraulic table can be adapted to cater for a number of different configurations.

Enjoy dinner and drinks at one of the various local restaurants this evening. At Cruise Abaco, there’s nothing we’re more excited about than sharing an adventure with those who are ready to sail in the Bahamas! We can’t wait to get you off the dock and cruising on the beautiful Sea of Abaco!

There are nearly as many different possible routes for a week’s charter. This sample itinerary will feature a round-trip route from Marsh Harbour. Marsh, in Central Abaco, has good airlift from Florida, plus a wealth of services from accommodations to grocery shopping, laundry, post office and shops.

We preferred Grabbers over Nippers, but one cannot skip a visit to Nippers if you are on Guana Cay. Nippers is famous for their Sunday Pig Roast which we hear turns into a rowdy party. Hopetown is one of the most well-known islands in the Abacos chain and is home to the famous candy-striped lighthouse that you can climb to the top. Hopetown is a quaint Bahamian town where you will find far more golf carts than cars and friendly locals. A friend told me that I had to find “Vernon’s Grocery,” because they have the best key lime pie in the Bahamas. We walked around, asked a few people and eventually found Vernon’s Grocery.

American Splendor formerly America Cruise: Expert Review 2023

reviews on american cruise lines

Have told many people about this cruise and look forward to going on another American Cruise Lines adventure. The entire crew were friendly, helpful and worked so very hard to make our trip fabulous. This was our fifth cruise with American Cruise Lines - and we have booked two more. The ship, crew and excursions keep us comfortable, well fed and entertained. This means a 3 to 1 ratio of passengers to crew.

I love small ship cruising

We boarded in New Orleans the afternoon prior to our day of departure, this included an excursion the next morning to the New Orleans WW2 Museum (Fantastic) Our room on board the ship was absolutely first class. We finished our cruise in Memphis, with a Graceland tour (the best) We will definitely be sailing with American Cruise Lines again, we cannot recommend them highly enough. This was our first cruise with American Cruise Lines, and it exceeded our expectations in every way.

Great trip

Entertainment was top notch, a lot of thoughtful effort went into planning. The whole team had smiles, they worked as a complete unit, everybody helped to the guests satisfaction. This cruise line goes straight to number 1 in my book.

Friendly staff

I learned so much on this cruise and planned another one to Alaska for next year. Carol and I were very impressed with the American Eagle from the moment we stepped on the ship. The colors were bright and modern, but what is immediately most impressive is that their entry-level staterooms start at 300 sq/ft., and the ship holds a maximum of 100 passengers.

Discover the optimal times to embark on this incredible journey down the Columbia & Snake River for the most unforgettable experience. Gain trust and grow your business with customer reviews. I cant say that this was the worst cruise but it was my first and I was expecting something more. Even personal looked like they do not like to be there.

American Harmony has two comfortable lounges where lectures, presentations and onboard entertainment are delivered daily. Particularly noteworthy are the two Grand Suites that measure 900 square feet apiece and include balconies that wrap around the stern of the ship, offering 270-degree views of the Mississippi River. These suites also boast separate living and sleeping areas with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres are offered during a daily cocktail hour, and round-the-clock snacks can be found in the main lounge.

Meals are served in the ship's grand dining room on Main Deck, which is capable of seating all passengers with no assigned tables. Regionally inspired cuisine is served up each day, from sumptuous breakfasts to multicourse dinners. The friendliness, efficiency and attendance to detail of the crew and staff. Very much enjoyed interacting with other travelers and the crew. Our guests are encouraged to share their personal story and write a review after their cruise. But all that doesn't negate what the line does right.

Find out about the special themed cruises that American Cruise Lines offers, allowing you to tailor your experience to your interests. Chris and Tracy discuss whether American Cruise Lines is a suitable choice for family cruising and the experiences it can offer to younger travelers. Families are more than welcome, but it is rare to see children on board. There are no youth facilities; however, the cruise director will plan appropriate activities when children are sailing. Sailing on the East Coast, the 109-passenger ship has been designed to offer "close-to-home" adventures that combine the atmosphere of an expedition cruise with the stability of a river cruising.

The cruise was friendly, well organized, informative, and entertaining. It is great that everything is included in the cruise price. The ship measures 241feet and carries 109 passengers at full occupancy with 50 crew. American Glory will sail on the East Coast and the rest of the fleet will be deployed across the U.S. All of the ships are being constructed by the line's sister shipyard, Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Maryland.

They are not trying to be a floating Four Seasons. I would give their down-home cuisine 4.5-stars, and I would give their service 5-stars. I must say, I wasn’t expecting this level of down-home, relaxed, yet professional service.

Each morning, at breakfast, we were given the day’s menu for lunch and dinner. We then made our selections and turned in the cards so that the kitchen would know how many of each item to have on hand. And don’t worry, if you change your mind, they could handle that as well. Our brand new overview video showcases all of the amazing destinations and experiences you'll discover with American Cruise Lines.

People who write reviews have ownership to edit or delete them at any time, and they’ll be displayed as long as an account is active. If you want to do Riverboat Cruising right, you have to use American Cruise Lines. The staff is always welcoming with a smile. The entertainment is outstanding (Mark Farris). The lectures are informative (Dallas Shipp).

We love your small ships and outstanding crews. This cruise was supposed to be in the Gulf of Mexico, but unfortunately was changed so that the last 2 days were in the Atlantic and were very rough and uncomfortable. Also we had to change our return flight from Tampa to Miami, a much bigger and more difficult airport to negotiate when you have mobility problems. My husband and I just completed our 3rd cruise with American Cruise Lines and booked a 4th while on board. The staff consistently goes above and beyond to make the entire experience a memorable one. We celebrated both my birthday and our anniversary while on our cruise and the staff made both very special events for us.

Miami cruise port guide: Everything to know about hotels, sites, transfers

You can park for free (or a discount) at a number of hotels in the area in exchange for a night’s stay. These hotels offer parking as a perk to attract cruise passengers. While it is the priciest option, we recommend that cruise passengers simply park at the official port lots. Not only is it the most convenient with the ability to park right at the ship, but it is also the most reliable option we’ve found. Port Miami offers convenient parking facilities near the cruise terminals, including both covered and open-air parking options, with daily rates and secure spaces.

Cruises from Jacksonville

PortMiami is a major US seaport located on Dodge Island (Biscayne Bay, Florida). It is ranked the world's largest passenger port (serving both cruise and ferry shipping traffic). The port is linked to Watson Island via PortMiami Tunnel (building cost USD 1 billion). Dodge Island combines 3 islands (Dodge, Lummus, Sam's) into one.

Many have undergone extensive renovations, while others will be updated to offer a better travel experience for cruise passengers. Passenger drop-off is offered in front of each terminal, and parking is also available at the port. The new "Terminal A" facility is sized 170,000 ft2 (15,800 m2) and is able to handle the world's largest passenger ships of the OASIS-class. According to the MoU (memorandum of understanding) between Royal Caribbean and Miami-Dade County, the Terminal's completion date was July 31, 2018.

Moving from Terminal F, MSC Cruises will sail out of a newly designed Terminals AA/AAA in 2024. Carnival’s ships are based at Terminals D and E, and the newly renovated Terminal F from 2022. Cruise ships sail to points across the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Mexico and other thrilling ports from South Florida’s cultural and economic center. Miami-Dade shares the county's parking and marketing revenues.

In addition to taxis, ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft are available from points across the city and surrounding area. It basically means you use a very simple smartphone app to request a ride, and your driver uses his/her personal vehicle. These are great hassle-free options to get to your cruise terminal and are often more comfortable than a cab.

Long Beach, CA

The new MSC terminal (now due to open next summer) will be at the far east end. While it is more expensive, we would suggest the parking at the Port of Miami. Navigating Miami can be difficult, so it’s nice to be able to park right at your ship and simply walk across a street to board. It’s also convenient in that you don’t have to pre-book or reserve anything. These are just some of the common amenities and services you can find at the terminals at PortMiami.

Park-and-cruise

If you are staying in the Miami area in a hotel, then you may be able to save on your parking. Many hotels cater to cruisers with special daily parking rates or parking packages, which allow you to leave your car while you sail. Premier Cruise ParkingIf you want to park in a garage where your car is protected from the searing Miami sun, then look into this company. Similar to Safe Cruise Parking above, this lot is actually a garage offering multiple levels of covered parking. Parking is available for oversized vehicles, but will cost extra and is in only one lot, across from Terminal E (which may or may not be convenient to your ship).

Pricing depends on the designated vehicle and your number of passengers. Carnival Cruise Line is the largest cruise operator in Miami with more year-round ships sailing from PortMiami than any other cruise line. Mardi Gras, the first Carnival Excel class ship for the line, will be delivered in August 2020 and be homeported at Port Canaveral after inaugural sailings from Europe and New York. Before setting sail from Port Miami, it’s recommended to arrive with plenty of time for check-in and boarding procedures. Learning about the layout of the port, the specific locations of terminals, and available parking options can significantly ease the embarkation process. It’s also crucial to have all necessary travel documents organized and easily accessible to ensure a seamless transition to your maritime adventure.

Here are also homeported two of RCI's largest liners - Allure of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas. The new facility was designed by Arquitectonica and built by Fincantieri Infrastructure. It is adjacent to Royal Caribbean's Terminal A. Construction works started on March 10, 2022, with scheduled completion and inauguration in December 2023.

MSC has broken ground on their new cruise terminal slated to open in 2023 and will be able to hold up to three ships at once. Here’s a rendering of the new terminal, built in partnership with Fincantieri (who is currently building the MSC Seashore at their shipyard in Italy). Miami Cruise Terminals C, D & E have been built with mega-ships holding up to 5000 passengers. Over five times the size of the Titanic, the Icon of the Seas is over 1000 feet long and 20 decks tall.

Also known as PortMiami, the cruise side of the port handles about 6 million passengers in a typical year, making it the most popular starting point for cruises on the entire planet. It contributes annually with around USD 43 billion to the economy and supports over 334,000 jobs countrywide. Arrangements should be made with your cruise line in advance if you require wheelchair assistance to board the ship.
